Meatloaf and mashed potatoes are the epitome of comfort food. Tender, juicy meatloaf paired with creamy mashed potatoes is a meal that satisfies both hunger and soul. Let’s dive into this hearty combination that's easy to make but always impresses.

➡ Ingredients:


For the Meatloaf:

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)

1 onion (diced)

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 egg

½ cup breadcrumbs

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

¼ cup ketchup (for topping)


For the Mashed Potatoes:

6 large potatoes (peeled and diced)

½ cup milk

¼ cup butter

Salt and pepper to taste


➡ Instructions:


1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).


2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.


3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place on a baking sheet. Top with ketchup.


4. Bake for 45-55 minutes until cooked through.


5. While the meatloaf is baking, cook potatoes in a pot of boiling salted water for about 15 minutes, until tender.


6. Drain the potatoes and mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until creamy.


7. Serve the meatloaf with a generous portion of mashed potatoes on the side.
