Homestyle Cornbread Bake Recipe


This Homestyle Cornbread Bake is moist, buttery, and has just the right amount of golden crust. It’s perfect alongside chili, stew, or even as a standalone snack!

➡ Ingredients:

1 cup cornmeal

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup sugar (optional for sweeter cornbread)

1 tbsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk

2 large eggs

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted


➡ Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish or cast-iron skillet.


2. In a large bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.


3. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter.


4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Don’t overmix!


5. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish or skillet.


6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
